Zephyr Products History
Zephyr Products was primarily known for manufacture of microphones at various locations in Melbourne. In 1955 they were operating from 58 High St, Glen Iris, later that year they had moved to 118 Wattletree Rd, and from the early 1960s their address was 50 High St, Glen Iris. The company was later located (1967) at 70 Batesford Rd., Chadstone which is where they continued till the company closed. At one time they also had premises at 421 Warragul Rd Moorabbin.
This is 70 Batesford Rd., Chadstone.
And this shows the rear of the building.
Thanks to Philip Johnstone for supplying these photos.
Zephyr Products were also a contract manufacturer of electronics and during the period when Byer Inductries and Rola Australia were manufacturing tape machines many of the amplifier units were manufactured under contract by Zephyr Products.
