This bulk eraser was sold with the Magnofilm TM-1 as the Magnofilm had no erase head so if you wanted to erase a tape then you could bulk erase it with the BE-1

The BE-2 was a general purpose bulk eraser and it included a spindle so that operator could locate the tape reel on the eraser and slowly rotate the reel while the eraser was switched on.
