At the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games a total of 250 Byer "77" tape recorders were used for recording commentry of events and for production of reports in the seventy Studioettes. In addition to the Byer tape machines there were 50 of the clockwork Commonwealth Electronics CEB machines.
This is one of seventy small studios or "Studioettes"
It may not be clear from this picture but what appear to be briefcases on the table tops are actually Byer "77" tape recorders.
