Circuit SchematicThis is an extended range volume indicator meaning that it isn't just a VU meter but an amplified VU meter with precision attenuator. The attenuator switches allow the reference level "0VU" to be set to line level being used not necessarily the +8dbm line commonly used in Australia at the time.
I have no original doumentation for this equipment but I've traced the circuit. After some quick tests I found that the valves needed replacing because of low emission, with "new" valves it worked perfectly. None of the passive components need replacing, pretty good for electronics that is 60 years old.
