Plessey Electronics took over Rola (Aust) during the mid 1960's and continued to manufacture the existing Rola products under the Rola name. New products however, were sold under the Plessey brand. Australian made Rola and Plessey Equipment was marketed in the UK but it isn't clear if this was a successful move. The following advertisement appeared in Wireless World of March 1970, the picture is from 3XY in Melbourne. You can see Rola 33C's, Rola 77 Mk III's, and Plessey CT-80's in the picture.
Recently the following image was found at a site dedicated to the history of BBC Radio Tee side and an Australian made Plessey CT-80 is sitting on the operator's console. So some products were sold in the UK.
By the mid 1970's Philips had bought Plessey Eletronics here in Australia and the Magnetic Recorder Division was sold to Consolidated Electronic Industries CEI.
